LAHORE: Altaf Hussain, a famous film director, died on Monday in Lahore. He was 80 years old. According to his family, he had been having lung and heart problems for a while now.
His body was buried in the Farid Shah Graveyard in Sabzazaar. The movie business is sad about the death of a very productive director who made a big impact on Pakistani movies with his 85 films, many of which were big hits.
Sala Sahib, Rani Betii Raj Kerry Gi, and Mehndi are some of Hussain’s most famous works. The last thing he did was direct a Punjabi movie called Teray Pyar Nu Salam.
Aftab Hussain was born in Khanpur in 1944. His first movie as a director was Panchhi Te Perdesi, which came out in 1969. His 1981 movie Athra Putar, which starred Sultan Rahi and Asia, was a huge hit at the box office.
He directed several hits in 1983, such as Sahib Jee, Quadrat, and Lawaris. Anjuman played the lead role in all of them. In the same year, Rustam Te Khan, which starred Sultan Rahi and Yousuf Khan, also did very well. Ten movies by Hussain came out in 1985. Dhee Rani was the most popular of them.
