TV Anchor’s House Robbed in Karachi’s Shah Faisal Colony

The southern port city of Karachi is still plagued by thefts and crimes on the streets. The latest victim is the anchor of a private TV station. The anchor’s home in the Shah Faisal Colony was broken into by thieves on Tuesday, which made the neighbours worried.

Police records say that quick action was taken, and within hours, the person suspected of robbing the store was arrested. The suspect was arrested, and the stolen things were found on the suspect, according to SSP Korangi Tauheed Rahman. The quick reaction happened after the anchor made a formal complaint, which made the police step in right away.

The suspect is now being held by police, and a case has been opened for further legal action. This event shows how hard it is for people in Karachi to deal with the rising number of crimes that happen on the streets.

There has been a rise in crime in the city for a long time. The city is known for its busy port and economic importance. A total of 108 people died in 2023 while fighting off thieves. The number of dead is broken down by district: 16 in Central, 2 in City, 30 in East, 16 in Keamari, 17 in Korangi, 10 in Malir, 1 in South, and 16 in West.

The sad trend is still going strong as of March 28, 2024, with 33 people confirmed dead during theft attempts this year alone. Even though police are working hard to reduce crime, Karachi’s citizens are still at risk. The city’s leaders are under a lot of pressure to find long-term answers to its security problems.
