The CEO of Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC), Engineer Syed Salahuddin Ahmed, has signed an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) deal for the New Hub Canal project. Leaders like Colonel Sabahuddin Chaudhry, Consultant 3G Sultan Dogar, Hub Canal Project Director Sikandar Ali, and Chief Engineer of Sewage E&M Syed Sardar Shah all attended the signing event on Thursday. Shoaib Shafiq was the Director of Wah Construction Limited Private.
A representative for the Water Corporation said that the project includes building the New Hub Canal and fixing up the Old Hub Canal. The Hub Pumping Station will be upgraded, mains will be raised, and the Hub Filter Plant’s output will go from 80 MGD to 100 MGD.
The overall cost of the project is expected to be Rs 12.76 billion, and it should be finished in one year. The project is supposed to greatly improve Karachi’s water supply once it’s finished, especially in the District West and Keamari areas.
