The Minister for Universities and Boards, Muhammad Ali Malkani, said that universities in Sindh are putting study and new ideas first, and the provincial government fully supports them. Malkani talked about efforts to encourage teachers, researchers, and students to do their best in school at the Electrical, Electronics, and Industrial Exhibition at the Expo Centre, where he was the guest of honour.
The Minister told the people there that the Department of Universities and Boards would keep working to raise academic standards across Sindh by giving unwavering support and inspiration. Vice Chancellors from several universities and Badr Expo helped put on the event. Vice Chancellors like Dr Samreen of Dawood University and the Vice Chancellor of Alama University showed the Minister around displays of student-led projects. Students gave in-depth presentations about their new ideas.
Malkani also talked about his plan to change the way exams are run by removing human error and digitizing paper checking, which he started doing as soon as he got into office. He said that many universities had been running for a long time without permanent vice-chancellors, but that the Sindh government had just recently named permanent vice-chancellors for five universities.
The Minister praised the students and teachers’ work at the show and reassured them that the government would continue to back them.
