KARACHI – To get ready for Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH), the Karachi Traffic Police have released a full traffic redirection plan for the 12th Rabi ul Awal processions on Tuesday, September 17.
Karachi is getting ready to honour the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) with a lot of devotion and respect. There will be several big Milad processions in the city. There will be a lot of traffic at these events because religious leaders will be talking about the lessons and Sunna of the Holy Prophet.
The Karachi Traffic Police have said that MA Jinnah Road will be the site of three important processions. Three of them will start at 3:00 PM, while two will start at 2:30 PM. It is expected that the processions will go on until late at night.
The first parade will begin at Kharadar Masjid and end at Gulzar-e-Habib Masjid. The second parade will start at Aram Bagh Masjid and end at Memon Masjid. The third parade will start at Memon Masjid in Kharadar and end at Nishtar Park.
To make room for the extra traffic and keep things running smoothly, the following detours will be in place:
People coming from Empress Market will be sent to Zaibunnisa Street, while people coming from M Arkiani Chowk will use Chowrangi Road and people coming from the Aram Bagh light signal will be sent to Shaheen Complex. People coming from University Road should take Kashmir Road via the Jail Flyover, and people coming from People’s Chowrangi will be sent to Saddar via Sharea Quaideen or Corridor-III.
Also, cars coming from MA Jinnah Road will only be able to use Guru Mandir Road. Drivers are told to plan their trips carefully and give themselves extra time to account for possible delays.
