Japan Film Festival Launches at Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi

A joint effort between the Pakistan Japan Culture Association (PJCA), Sindh, and the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, the Japan Film Festival held its first event recently at the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi.

This important event happens every year in Karachi and is put on by the Japan Foundation and the Consulate-General of Japan in Karachi. On the first night, Brave Father Online: Our Story of Final Fantasy XIV was shown. This is a touching movie about a Japanese father and his son who are very close because they both love video games.

Three interesting Japanese films will be shown at this year’s event in September and October at different locations in the Sindh region. Brave Father Online: Our Story of Final Fantasy XIV, Princess Arete, and Round Trip Heart are all on the list.

At the opening event, Mr. HATTORI Masaru, Consul General of Japan in Karachi, talked about the movie’s themes and said he was happy that so many people came to see it. His words showed that people in Pakistan are becoming more interested in Japanese movies and culture, which shows that there is a lot of cultural exchange going on between the two countries.
